Pipeline Industry Environmental Code of Practice, APGA
CNC was selected to lead the Australian Pipelines and Gas Association’s (APGA) Code of Environmental Practice review, drawing on its extensive internal experience in and knowledge of environmental management and the pipeline industry.
The review involved a large-scale restructure of the existing Code of Environmental Practice (CoEP) and the development of additional sections covering risk analysis, trenchless technology and Environmental Management Systems (EMS).
CNC collaborated with asset owners, operators, pipeline constructors, consultants and regulators to obtain buy-in and consensus on the revised CoEP.
Implemented in 2013, the industry has widely accepted the revised CoEP in both Australia and New Zealand. It is now referenced in Federal legislation under Australian Standard 2885.1 as well as in state legislation, and is applied to every aspect of environmental management for onshore pipelines.
