Communications and engagement, Level Crossing Removal Project

Since 2015, CNC has supported the Victorian Government’s Level Crossing Removal Authority (LXRA) and its contractors to lead and support communications and stakeholder engagement activities for the removal of dangerous and congested level crossings across Melbourne.

Communications and engagement

CNC’s communications consultants have advised and provided in-person support to LXRA head office and several contractor consortiums during the planning, pre-construction and construction phases of various works packages. These included:

  • Frontline community engagement
  • Trader engagement
  • Issues management
  • Major non-rail infrastructure communications
  • Strategic stakeholder and community engagement planning
  • Value capture strategy development
  • Internal communications
  • Tender writing.

Engineering

CNC’s engineering team has also provided technical advice and support to the Level Crossing Removal Project.

CNC’s engineers were tasked with the delivery of Pipeline Impact Assessment (PIA) reports which capture all direct and indirect impacts on the asset owners’ gas assets (including Transmission Pipelines and Distribution Mains) in the vicinity of a crossing removal.
